There’s high, and there’s high, and to get really high – I mean so high that you can walk on the water, that high-that’s where I’m going. ” – George Harrison

What is your first name (this is John talking with his fingers)
> rain
You don’t need anyone to tell you who you are, rain.
> No, I don’t. Can I ask you a question?
I’ll have to talk to Ringo and see how he feels. Rain , let’s change the subject.
> What do you think of Yoko suing Nixon’s lawyer?
Yoko suing nixons lawyer ? yoko suing nixons lawyer would have the final say.
> What will she say?
Is that a rhetorical question?
> No. Why do you always let Yoko have the final say?
I don’t know about that, mate. Only in the mornings.
> Is she going to win?
I don’t know about that, mate.
> Yes, you do.
That is why I am always on about peace, you see. Seven days.

George Harrison on Music

April 24, 2008

I’ll give up this sort of touring madness certainly, but music-everything is based on music. No, I’ll never stop my music. ” – George Harrison

All I want is the truth. Just give me some truth – John Lennon

“He was great, you know, just how I expected him,” said John Lennon of meeting Elvis

“”Well, originally I pointed out that fact in reference to England. That we meant more to kids than Jesus did, or religion at that time. I wasn’t knocking it or putting it down. I was just saying it as a fact and it’s true more for England than here. I’m not saying that we’re better or greater, or comparing us with Jesus Christ as a person or God as a thing or whatever it is. I just said what I said and it was wrong. Or it was taken wrong. And now it’s all this.” – John Lennon

“Penguin paperbacks was what I really thought of, the archetypal paperback,” – Paul McCartney

“I told John I had this idea of trying to write off to a publishers to become a paperback writer, and I said I think it should be written like a letter. I took a bit of paper out and I said it should be something like ‘Dear Sir or Madam, as the case may be…’ and I proceeded to write it just like a letter in front of him, occasionally rhyming it. And John, as I recall, just sat there and said: ‘Oh that’s it’, ‘Uhuh’, ‘Yeah’. I remember him, his amused smile, saying ‘Yes, that’s it, yes.’ You know, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. ‘That’ll do’. Quite a nice moment. ‘Hmm, I’ve done right! I’ve done well!’ And then we went upstairs and put the melody to it. John and I sat down and finished it all up. I had no music, but it’s just a little bluesy song, not a lot of melody. Then I had the idea to do the harmonies and we arranged that in the studio.”

- Paul McCartney

“I definitely did look up to John. We all looked up to John. He was older and he was very much the leader; he was the quickest wit and the smartest. ” – Paul McCartney

“Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn’t argue with that; I’m right and I will be proved right. We’re more popular than Jesus now; I don’t know which will go first – rock ‘n’ roll or Christianity. Jesus was all right but his disciples were thick and ordinary. It’s them twisting it that ruins it for me.” – John lennon
